Ingredients

1 cup grits

1 15oz can chicken stock

additional water to make 4 cups liquid

1-2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup chopped onion

1-2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

Preparation

put liquids, garlic and onion in a heavy saucepan bring to a boil

add grits lower heat to lowest setting simmer until grits thicken and liquid is absorbed

stir in cheese until melted
