Ingredients
1/3 cup butter or margerine
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup sugar
8 oz package cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp lemon juice
Preparation
In a small bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. With a fork, blend in flour until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in walnuts, reserving 1 cup for topping. Press remaining mixture into greased 8" square pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 12-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in another bowl, beat sugar and cream cheese together until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, milk and lemon juice; beat until smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture over baked crust and sprinkle evenly with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Let cool; then refrigerate. Transport in pan, packed in a cooler. To serve, cut into squares and remove from pan with spatula.
