Ingredients
1.5-cups water
2-carrots, grated
1-onion, chopped
0.25-cup green pepper, chopped
1.5-teaspoon jalapeno, chopped
1-garlic clove, chopped
0.25-teaspoon salt
1-pound ground beef, browned
2.5 cups milk
3-tablespoons flour
8-ounces of American Cheese
0.25-teaspoon cayenne pepper
0.5-pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
In a large saucepan combine the first seven ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in cooked ground beef and 2 cups of the milk, heat htrough. Combine floor and the remaining milk until smooth, gradually stir into soup. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; stir in cheese until melted. Add cayenne and stir in bacon. If the soup is too thick, add more milk.
