Ingredients

2 bunches red or green chard

1-2 TBS olive oil

SAUCE:

1/2 Cup seasoned rice vinegar

1/4 Cup honey

4 cloves minced garlic

1/8 - 1/4 tsp cayenne powder

5 TBS dried currents

1/2 tsp salt

pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a small sauce pan, mix vinegar, honey, cloves, cayenne, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium high heat until reduced by half.
  3. Add currents and season with pepper to taste.

WHILE SAUCE IS REDUCING, PREPARE SAUCE:

  1. Slice chard into 2 inch pieces, discarding any stems that are tough and woody.
  2. Saute chard over medium heat just until wilted and tender, about 8 minutes.
  3. Pour sauce over chard, stir, and serve
