Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

3/4 cup sliced sweet onion (such as Vidalia)

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 cup mayonnaise

16 slices baguette

1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Preparation

Melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Add sliced onion and garlic to the skillet. Allow onion and garlic to brown, stirring occasionally about 15 minutes. In the meantime, place bread on baking sheet and broil on both sides. Once onion is nicely carmelized remove from heat. Mix carmelized onion and garlic in a medium bowl with mayonnaise. Spread toasted bread slices with onion mixture and sprinkle parmesan on top. Broil toasts until browned. Serve immediately.
