Ingredients

3/4 cup butter, softened

2/3 cup brown sugar'

1/4 cup light cream

1 1/2 cups flour

1 tablespoon cardamom

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup sugar, to sprinkle

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar till light. Beat in cream. Stir in remaining stuff (except sugar for sprinkling). Roll dough into 10 inch log and wrap in waxed paper. Chill at least 2 hours (can be left overnight or even frozen). Slice chilled or frozen log into 1/4 inch slices and lay on ungreased cookie sheets; sprinkle each with sugar. Bake in middle of oven till edges are golden; 6-8 minutes at 375°.
