Ingredients
11/2 cups sugar
1 cup hot water
1 tablespoon butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
- In large, heavy skillet, heat sugar over very low heat stirring, until melted and light golden- brown
- Remove fromheat. Very gradually stir in 1 cup hot water; bring to boiling point. Reduce heat, and simmer until it thicken slightly or reaches 228F on candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat. Add buter, salt, and vanilla. Let cool. Reheat to serve
