Ingredients

1/2 small sweet onion

10 cloves fresh garlic

3 T. butter or margarine

6 large Klondike Rose or red potatoes, cubed

1 lb. stewing beef or cubed sirloin

6 cups of hot water

3 sprigs fresh rosemary

salt and pepper

1/2 pound fresh green beans

Preparation

In large stockpot, melt butter over low heat. Cut onion, peel garlic and add to chopper–finely mince. Add onion and garlic to stockpot, stir into butter and cook for about 3 minutes. Cut potatoes into cubes. Add to pot and stir well. Add water and stir well. Add pepper and salt to taste. Place 3 sprigs of rosemary to top of mixture. Cover pot and cook for about 45 minutes at a simmer. Add green beans and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Serve in a bowl. Cover with breadcrumbs.

Goes well with Cheesy Baguette.
