Ingredients

48 Hershey’s “Candy Cane” kisses (freeze for at least 24 hours prior to making cookies)

1 stick of butter softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

2 Tbsp milk

Red and green sugar crystals

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350. Remove wrappers from candy and set aside. Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla in a large bowl until well blended. Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt. Then add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the butter mixture, beating until well-blended. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in the red and green sugar crystals, then place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and cookie is set. Remove from oven, cool 2-3 minutes, then press a candy cane kiss into the center of each cookie. Remove cookies to wire rack and cool completely, allowing the base of the kiss candy to “set” before disturbing. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
