Ingredients

1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter

2 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar

1 pound tart Red or Purple Plums, pitted and sliced 1/3 inch thick

1/4 cup Fresh Orange Juice

Pinch of Ground Allspice

3 Tablespoons coarsely chopped Candied Ginger

Preparation

Melt the butter in a medium skillet. Add the sugar and stir over moderately high heat until melted. Add the plum slices, orange juice and allspice. Toss occasionally until the plums soften and the liquid becomes syrupy, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the candied ginger. Let cool slightly before serving.
