Ingredients

1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter (softened), 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 cups plain flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 cup buttermilk

Topping:

1 cup chopped nuts, 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup packed brown sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 cup butter

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, soda & salt. Add buttermilk and flour mixture alternately to sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Set aside.

Topping: Combine nuts, sugar, brown sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter. Sprinkle 1/2 of mixture in a greased and floured 9x13 pan. Pour batter over. Cover with remaining 1/2 of the topping.

Bake at 350, 25-30 minutes.
