Ingredients

1 lb brussel sprout

1 Tbs olive oil

1/3 cup minced shallot

1/2 tsp salt

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup mustard

2 Tbs brown sugar

pepper

Preparation

  1. cut off base of sprout & divide each into 5 pieces
  2. heat large skillet over med for 1 min. add olive oil, coating skillet
  3. add shallot: saute 2 min. stir in sprout, salt, 3 Tbs water. Reduce heat to med-low, cover, cook for 5 min.
  4. combine mustard, brown sugar, remaining water in small bowl. stir.
  5. pour mustard mixture over sprouts & stir. reduce heat to low, cover, cook for 3 min., stir.
  6. remove from heat or cook for 5 min. serve hot w/pepper.
