Ingredients

3/4 c butter (must be butter)

1/2 c sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla

2 c flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 c chopped nuts

1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips (or try bittersweet!)

unsweetened cocoa powder and/or confectioners’ sugar

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift in flour and salt, mixing thoroughly. Stir in nuts and chocolate. Shape into balls size of small walnuts. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 F for 15-20 min. Cool slightly. Roll in sugar or cocoa. Cool completely and roll in sugar again.
