Ingredients

Bread Pudding:

2 c. milk

4 c. course bread crumbs

1/4 c. melted butter

1/2 c. sugar

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 c. seedless raisins

1 tsp. cinnamon

Whiskey Sauce:

1 stick butter or margarine

1 c. sugar

1 egg

1/4 c. whiskey

Preparation

Bread pudding: Scald milk and pour over bread crumbs. Cool and add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into a 1 1/2 q. casserole. Place casserole in pan of hot water (1 in. deep)and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a knife inserted into pudding comes out clean.

Whiskey sauce: Cook butter and sugar together in a double boiler until mixture is very hot and thick and sugar is dissolved. Add egg quickly and beat. cool slightly and add whiskey. Serve hot or cold over pudding.
