Ingredients
7 slices of bread
soft butter
1 pint of milk
½ pint of double cream
110g of sugar
110g raisins & sultanas
3 eggs slightly beaten
1tsp vanilla and a pinch of salt
Preparation
- Pre-heat oven to 170c, 325f or Gas 3.
- Butter large ovenproof baking dish.
- Spread the butter on one side of bread.
- Line bottom and sides of the dish with buttered bread.
- Mix eggs, sugar, raisins and sultanas, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and pour over bread.
- Stand for 30 minutes.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove lid and cook for a further 30 minutes.
