Ingredients

10 pounds pears

3 pounds sugar

4 cups water

3 cups white brandy

Preparation

Combine sugar and water to make syrup. Cook pears in syrup in 1 layer until tender about 5 minutes. Place pears in large bowl and set aside. After all pears are cooked continue cooking syrup until thick about 15 minutes. Add brandy. Pack pears in jars and cover with syrup.
